Aries and Cancer are three signs apart, which puts them at a square — the aspect astrology treats as productive friction rather than easy agreement. The mechanics are specific: squares always join signs of the same modality but different elements. Here, both are cardinal, the mode of initiation, and both are ruled by fast-moving bodies — Mars for Aries, the Moon for Cancer. So this isn't a pairing where one leads and one follows. Aries supplies momentum and the willingness to say the hard thing out loud. Cancer supplies memory, loyalty, and an instinct for what will actually hold together over time. The practical fix is usually territorial. Decide in advance who initiates what, and let the other sign genuinely own their half.
