Two Beginners, One Doorway, Neither Stepping Aside

Ninety degrees apart is the astrological equivalent of standing in the same doorway at the same moment. Aries and Cancer both belong to the cardinal signs — the initiators, the ones who don't wait for permission — which means neither is naturally built to defer. Both want to lead. Both are already halfway through the plan. The plans are not the same plan.

Where it gets interesting is the element split. Aries is fire, ruled by Mars: forward, direct, allergic to hesitation, capable of making a decision in the time it takes most people to find their keys. When it does work, it works because each supplies what the other genuinely lacks. Cancer gives Aries somewhere to land, a sense that not every effort has to be a solo campaign. Aries gives Cancer the nerve to act before the feeling is fully processed — which, for a sign that can deliberate a decision into next season, is a real gift. The protectiveness runs both ways too; Aries defends people loudly, Cancer defends people quietly, and between them very little gets through.

Squares don't dissolve. This one asks for something less romantic than harmony: timing. Let Aries move first on the things that need speed. Let Cancer set the pace on anything involving people's feelings, home, or history. Stop competing over who initiates and the same energy that caused the friction starts doing something useful instead.
